Shirley A. Hudson

Mrs. Shirley A. Latten Hudson was born on May 28, 1947, to the late Samuel D. Latten, Jr., and Henrietta Horton Latten in Athens, Georgia. Shirley touched the lives of many with her warm and bright smile and her willingness to help others.

A beautiful woman with a beautiful soul to match, she transitioned to God’s loving arms on April 8, 2024. At an early age, Shirley accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at Timothy Baptist Church. She later attended Ebenezer Baptist church. After graduating from Athens Technical College, Shirley immediately began her career in the healthcare field. She was employed with Grandview Care Center for over thirty years.

Including her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Alveria Law. Shirley’s beautiful life will forever be cherished by: her husband, Larry L. Hudson; loving daughter, Shannon Hawes; son, Reginald Parrott; stepdaughter, Neka Hudson; stepson, Dreceko Hudson (Shanta), Lanier Slack (Sherry); eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Jacquelyn Williams and Alice Wingate; and a host of nieces, nephews,cousins, and friends.
