Rosa Lee Ellia was born March 21, 1930 to the late Alex and Rosa Lee

(Sims) Willams. She began her eternal rest on February 18, 2025. Rosa attended Midway Elementary School in Winterville, Georgia. After Midway, shewent on to Athens High Industrial where she had to leave school after theeighth grade to help the family on the farm. While her formal education was abruptly ended, Rosa was a wise woman; always learning and teaching.

Rosa married James Claude Ellis on December 31, 1947 and to this marriage three children were born, Willie James Ellis, Mashelden Ellis-Wellonsand Sandra Carolyn Ellis Holt. Her heart also reached out to include a daughter raised in the home, Mary Patricia Kytle.

Rosa confessed Christ as her personal Savior at an early age where she joined and served at the Central Baptist Church in Winterville. Rosa was a dedicated member and hard worker, serving faithfully until the church building was destroyed by fire. Rosa moved her membership to New DorseyTabernacle Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until their health declined and she could no longer attend. However, she loved her church and the many friends she had there. Rosa was a strong Christian woman and no matter her circumstances, she was always willing to pray for and with others. Her faith shone through until the end of her life.

Rosa worked in and out of the home. She worked many years at Clarke Middle School. She retired from Seaboard Farms after 30 years. Even after her formal retirement, Rosa continued to work another five years as a personal care-giver.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Rosa Lee Williams, her husband, James, her son, Willie James, grandson, Zackery Foster, great granddaughter, Mashelden Edwards, great-great granddaughter, Jensis Fuquay and sisters Mary Louise Wise, Magnolia Wise and twin sister Mattie Lee Solomon.

Rosa leaves her cherished memory with her daughters Mary, Mashelden and Sandra, grandchildren Randy J (Stephanie) Jarrell, Jr., Gregory D (Lisa) Binns, Sr., Keith R. (Rayne) Binns, Sr., Kenya R. Binns, Elmer Foster, Jr.,Dexter Foster, Kesha Faust, Rena Holden, Monica Faust and Salvator Ellis. She leaves nine great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special friends.
