Mother Sue Lee Hull

June 28, 1925 — January 10, 2024

Mrs. Sue Lee Hull was born June 28, 1925, in Oglethorpe County to the late Will Smith and Susie Arnold Smith. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Rallye, Georgia. Later, she and her family relocated to the Madison County area and there united with the Good Hope Baptist Church. She served faithfully on many auxiliaries until her health failed. By God’s, mercy, grace, and longevity she became the oldest member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, Johnnie C. Hull; son, Willie James Daniel, grandson, Norman Daniel, great-grandson, Kerriake Hull; two brothers, William and Henry Tom Smith; six sisters, Jessie Booker, Alma Smith, Mary Allen, Lois Faust, Annie Prather, and Fannie Barnett.

She loved working in her vegetable and flower garden, cooking, sewing, and quilting. She had a very loving and giving spirit, was cherished by many. She didn’t mind sharing her love for the Lord with whomever she came in contact with. You never entered her home and didn’t feel welcome. If you ever spent time with her you knew her slogan, “Give me my flowers while I live so I can see and smell the beauty of them. Tell me you love me so I can hear it because when I’m dead and gone I won’t know anything about it and it won’t do my nor you any good.”

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons, Johnny F. (Nellie) Hull, Athens, Georgia, William (Virginia) Hull; three daughters, Luellen Smith, Jessie Hull, Daisy (Melvin) Young; daughter-in-law, Birdie M. Daniels, Lexington, Georgia; 28 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; 68 great-great grandchildren; 22 great-great-great grandchildren
