Mary L. Wise

Mrs. Mary Louise Wise was born on January 11, 1926, in Winterville, Georgia, to the late Elliott Willams and Rose Lee Sims Willams Mary attended Midway Elementary School in Winterville, Georgia, until the death of her mother at the age of 12. Mary left school to care for her three sisters. Mary met and married Same Wise. To this union, eight children were born. At this time, they became a blended family with ten children. Mary was preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Simon and Magnolia Wise; two sons, Lawrence Willams and Daniel Willams: and one daughter. Kathy Wise Mary accepted Christ into her life at an early age, attending New Grove Baptist Church in Winterville, Georgia. She was member of the Mother Board, the Senior Choir, and the Usher Board. She remained a faithful member of the Church until her health declined.

Mary obtained her GED in the 60s at the Universitv of Georon She leaves to cherish her memory: her six daughters, Maggie Taylor, Mattie Green, Betty Harper of Athens, GA, Priscilla Sims of Upper Marlboro, MD, Margaret Wise, and Chinetta Bulter; one son, Samuel Wise of Athens, GA; one sister, Rosa Lee Ellis of Athens, GA; 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren. and 20 great-great-grandchildren: caregiver. Betty Harper: and a host of nieces. nenhews. cousins. and friends.
