Margaret Gaylan Burton

Margaret Gaylan Burton was born in Athens, Georgia on September 11, 1934, to Ida Ector Robinson and John Jordan. She was united in matrimony to John Robert Burton on July 7, 1950. Margaret obtained her education in the Clarke County School System and received a certificate in Day Care and Early Childhood Education. Margaret loved to cook and used her culinary skills at many local venues including the VFW, Jennings Mill Country Club and the Athens Country Club. She was known for baking and catering for people during the holidays and special events. She is survived by three sons, Xavier Burton, Gillespie Burton (Brenda) and Jose Burton, by a devoted former daughter in-law, Jeannie Burton, and by six grandchildren, YoDonna Burton Collins (Trent), Andrea Tillman, Samario Demond Burton (Alycia), Terrico Burton, Shanel Viondi Burton, Christopher Burton , and Jaron Xavier Burton, and by six great grandchildren, Asja Burton, Malik Burton, Christopher Tillman, Chakayla Hubbard, Sierra Hubbard, and Elijah Tillman, and six great- great grandchildren, Alana Hubbard, Christopher Tillman, Tanila Hubbard, Jacari Hubbard, Kahlil Hubbard, and Trevon Williams, and by a loyal friend, Julia Handy, and by a host of extended family and friends. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gardenview Funeral Chapel. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 11:00 a.m. in The Coy C. Williamson Jr. Memorial Chapel Of Gardenview.
