Jearline R. Hughes

April 22, 1947 — April 2, 2024

We celebrate the homegoing of Jearline Rucker Hughes who was a devoted aunt, great-aunt, sister, and godmother.

On April 2, 2024, God softly spoke her name and dispatched an angel to receive another one of his own to come home. At his home, she accepted his call and went home to be with the Lord, to suffer this world no longer. There was no pain or sorrow in this acceptance, only love and peace. She will get the chance to meet her Savior face to face. So we will keep this celebration close to our hearts as we rejoice, reflect, and remember the time with our aunt and sister, Jearline. Now take your rest, Auntie. Until we meet again on the other side. We love you and we are going to miss you dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Rucker; mother, Rossie Mae Rucker; brother, Leonard Rucker, Jr.; two great-nieces, Tiffany Barnett and Braylee Dalton; and an aunt that she loved so much, Frances R.

Braxton.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her sister, Glenda Rucker and Mahalia Jackson; favorite niece, whom she loved dearly and who was like a daughter, Teresa Brewer; niece, Valirie Gray; favorite nephews, Zachelte Gray and Antonio Rucker; great-niece, whom she loved dearly, Danielle and Zaybreona; eight great-nieces; two great-nephews; six great-great ?; two godchildren, Brieyonna Braxton and Brittany Braxton; and her very best friend whom she loved dearly, Amanda Appling.
