THE LIFE OF DAISY SCOTT Daisy "Joanne" Scott, 69, of Athens, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, after a battle with Cancer. Daisy demonstrated strong faith throughout her journey, and never stopped loving others or laughing. Cancer did not defeat her. She allowed the Lord to lead her each step of the way and right into the loving arms of Jesus. Daisy was born on March 10, 1952, and raised by her mother, Katie Mae Scott, in Lee County Georgia. After Daisy graduated from Americus High School in 1972, she studied Accounting at South Georgia Technical College. After college, Daisy worked in Retail Management for over 20 years at Macy's and other department stores. On December 7, 1975, Daisy married the love of her life, McArthur Scott. Daisy and McArthur went on to have five wonderful children, Danita, Michael, Jonathan, Adrian, and Regina, whom she showered with unconditional love. Throughout Daisy's life, you could find her laughing, thrifting, watching her favorite reality TV shows, and talking about the latest hot topic with her friends and loved ones. Daisy was also a devoted member of Timothy Baptist Church where she served as an usher under the leadership of Pastor Tracy L. Boles. Daisy was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, McArthur Scott, son, Jonathan Edward Scott, mother, Katie Lee Scott, sister, Clover Diane Scott, and brother, Jimmy Scott. She will be missed and survived by her daughters, Danita A. Scott (Athens) and Regina "Ginee" Scott (Atlanta), and sons, Michael Scott (Atlanta) and Adrian Scott (Athens); brothers, Eddie James Mitchell (Atlanta), Julius Scott (Atlanta), and Lorenza Scott (Atlanta), her brother Leon Scott, her only sister, Cynthia Scott (Atlanta); and mother-in-law, Ozie Scott (Americus). Her family is honored to carry on the legacy of her life she will be missed dearly.
